Some well know sites have been verified as redirecting users to known malware/scareware sites. After the client browser is redirected, the user is presented with a screen that falsely indicates the client system has been infected with malware. Users are then instructed to install a malware/spyware scanner, AntiVirus2009, to remove the "detected malware." AntiVirus2009 is described by Symantec as - "AntiVirus2009 is a misleading application that may give exaggerated reports of threats on the computer."
Computer Security may require a rebuild of computers that trigger this alert.
