With the laboratory in an era of expansion and renewal, including construction of the Linac Coherent Light Source and other projects and infrastructure improvements, there is an increasing demand for construction-related state codes, standards and specifications. To meet this demand, the SLAC Library has purchased an online subscription to the 2007 California State Building Codes. The subscription includes the building, fire, mechanical and plumbing codes.

The following 2007 California codes are available:

For access to these databases go to the SLAC Library Web site and click "labwide" on the menu bar to open the SLAC Library Resources page. Click "show more" under the Databases heading, then choose "California Codes 2007." You will be directed to the E Codes Premium home page. Once there, choose "States," then "California."

Follow the same instructions for the California Mechanical and Plumbing codes, choosing "California Mechanical and Plumbing Codes" under the Databases section on the SLAC Library Resources page.

The subscription to the California codes is good through February 28, 2010. Renewal is dependent upon usage statistics and Library funding. Please spread the news to your coworkers who are currently using, or may be interested in using the building codes.
