As in the past, when you register for TechPort, you will get access to over 1,000 online courses and over 4,500 online, unabridged, searchable books at Books24x7. 
NOTE: New books and courses have been and will continue to be added during the coming year.

If you're using STAP funds, register in Axess/STARS, for "TechPort - Online Technology Training for Stanford (ITS-0611)."

1. Go to http://axess.stanford.edu.
2. Log in using your SUNet ID (if you don't have a SUNet ID yet, be sure to request a SUNet ID)
3. Click on the "Training" tab or the "My Home" link
4. From the "STARS Menu" on the left side of the page, click on Search Catalog.
5. Type in the "techport" in the Title field, then click Search.
6. Click on the course titled "TechPort - Online Technology Training for Stanford (ITSS-0611)" to bring up course details.
7. Follow the instructions to enroll. Be sure to forward your confirmation email to Training_admin@slac.stanford.edu so it is recorded in your SLAC training history
8. If you have questions, call ITSS at 723-4391.

If you are paying not paying with STAP funds, you will be not able to use Axess/STARS to register. Please download and fill out the paper registration form found at http://techtraining.stanford.edu/form305.pdf and fax it to ITSS at 725-0995.

You'll be notified by email, 2-5 business days after registering, that you account is active. You'll also get log-on instructions.

*Later this Fall, the cost to register for TechPort access through 8/31/07 will be higher.
