Various prescription and over the counter medicines get outdated or are no longer needed. Common advice is to flush them -- DON'T! Regional Water Quality folks are advising us not to pollute the Bay (particularly), but this applies to other water areas as well.

MAY 19th (FRI) and May 20th (SAT) will be special medicine disposals days.
You can drop off unneeded medicines between 10am and 3pm at WALGREEN's in Palo Alto at these locations:

Downtown:
300 University Ave

Midtown:

Another option is the Regional Water Quality Control Plant, which is a good ongoing drop-off, 5 days a week. It's at 2501 Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto.
