SLAC Guest House to be Renamed Stanford Guest House

Formerly called the SLAC Guest House, the Stanford Guest House will celebrate its re-christening in an open house on Wednesday, November 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will feature tours of the facility, complimentary lunch, and a raffle of gift baskets and free-night stays. Those planning to attend the celebration are requested to RSVP by calling (650) 926-2800 or by emailing guesthouse@stanford.edu. The event is open to all in the SLAC and broader Stanford community.

"We are excited to host this event and welcome Stanford community members to this rebirth of the Stanford Guest House," said Rodger Whitney, Executive Director of Student Housing and Chief Housing Officer, whose organization operates the Guest House. "We have renamed the Stanford Guest House to reflect its role in serving the entire Stanford community, including SLAC, the Medical Center, and the University."

Opened in June 2003, the 112-room facility is located on the Stanford campus at SLAC. It provides short-term guest accommodations to all Stanford affiliates, including prospective students, conference attendees, visiting scholars, student parents, and families of hospital patients.

Jonathan Faulkner, the new General Manager of the Stanford Guest House, anticipates that attendees at the open house will share his enthusiasm for the service and amenities that the Guest House offers. "We hope that the open house will draw department administrators and others who are responsible for reserving rooms for Stanford guests and recommending area guest lodging," Faulkner said. "We believe that the Stanford Guest House should be the destination-of-choice for Stanford visitors who are seeking a convenient, comfortable, and competitively priced home-away-from-home during their stay at Stanford."
