Demolition of SLD Gas Pad, Bldg. 102 A/B, and Bldg. 113

LCLS is planning to start demolition projects for the following buildings; SLD Gas Pad East of PEP Ring Road, Bldg 102 A/B in the Research Yard, and Bldg. 113 High Bay in the research Yard.

Access is restricted to authorized contractor and SLAC UTR personnel at all projects listed. Work areas in the research yard will be barricaded and posted.

1) The "SLC Gas Pad" is at the PEP Ring Road area adjacent to the Collider Hall-750. The projected start and end dates for this demo phase is 6/21/06-6/28/06.

* There will be concrete demolition and demolished concrete will be loaded on trucks. Be aware of flying concrete chips, metals and other objects. Proper PPE must be worn (if access is granted by the UTR) to include hard hat, steel toed safety boots, safety glasses, ear protection.
* There will be heavy machinery and lifting of material at this demolition zone. Be careful and watch your speed limits and comply with the 10 miles per hour speed restriction at this location.
* The PEP Ring Road will be partially barricaded, only one lane will be used in this area (enough for a fire truck) as necessary. Pay attention to all signs and workers in the area.
* Reflective vests will be required in traffic areas
* Do not get out of your vehicles in this vicinity of the demolition.

2) "Building 102-A&B" will be demolished. This will include the structure of section A&B and demolition of the concrete slab. Bldg 102 B/C remain. The projected start and end dates for this demo phase are 6/28/06-7/7/06.

* Access into the demolition area is restricted to authorized contractor and UTR personnel unless granted by the UTR. Proper PPE must be worn (if access is granted by the UTR) to include hard hat, steel toed safety boots, safety glasses, ear protection.
* There will be cutting, sawing, grinding and dismantling of the structure.
* There will be heavy machinery at this construction site.
* Scissor lifts and or JLG's will be used at this construction location. All personnel must watch and listen for hazardous surroundings.
* There will also be siding installation on the outside of the 102-C wall after the demo work is complete.
* Power tools will be used at this demo and construction site. Electrical power cords will be connected to GFCI circuits and identified as temporary power cords.
* The men's bathroom will be closed at times due to the demolition.

3) "Building 113 Highbay" will also be demolished, including the structure and partial concrete slab. The start and end dates for this demo phase is 7/10/06-7/31/06.

* There will be crane lifting conducted in this area to dismantle the building crane. Proper PPE must be worn (if access is granted by the UTR) to include hard hat, steel toed safety boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and reflective vests.
* Access into the demolition area is restricted to authorized contractor and UTR personnel, unless granted by the UTR. Visitors are required to read and sign the Area Hazard Analysis(AHA). Proper PPE must be worn (if access is granted by the UTR) to include hard hat, steel toed safety boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and reflective vests.
* There will be cutting, sawing, grinding and dismantling of the structure. Face shields will be applied as needed when demolition is taking place.
* There will also be heavy machinery used at this location. Watch signage and speed limits while around this location.
* Scissor lifts and or boom lifts will be used at this location. All personnel must watch and listen for hazards in the area.
*Power tools will be used at this location.
