Tunnel Rescue Drill

Start: 4/19/2007 8:00:00 AM

End: 4/21/2007 5:00:00 PM

Don't be overly concerned if you hear alarms and sirens around the SLAC site late next week; a tunnel rescue drill is scheduled for April 19th, 20th and 21st. It will take place at the south adit and the SLAC Large Detector's south utility shaft, near Building 669. The Palo Alto Fire Department, in cooperation with members of the San Jose, Santa Clara County, and Mountain View Fire Departments, and the SLAC Emergency Response Team (SERT), will participate in the drill. Due to the amount of fire apparatus and number of SERT members participating in the drill, only personnel with work assignments in the area should be present during the drill. If you do hear sirens, please take precautions: check the surrounding area for hazards and make sure that they really are from the drill before continuing with your work.
