Alpine Gate Closed

The Alpine Gate is now closed to regular traffic and will remain closed during construction of the Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS). The Alpine Gate is now used exclusively by construction vehicles, heavy equipment, and construction workers. More than 200 workers a day will use the Alpine Gate during peak construction periods over the next two years. Everyone else needs to use the main gate entrance on Sand Hill Road during the construction period, which is scheduled to last at total of 28 months. "The closures are really to protect employees," said LCLS conventional facilities manager David Saenz.
