Bulb and Ballast Replacement in Bldg. 84 and 40
Start: 7/17/2006 3:00:00 PM
End: 8/18/2006 9:00:00 PM
A contractor will be begin work on Monday, July 17, to replace bulbs and ballasts in almost all of the florescent light fixtures in the two buildings (except those areas where relatively new equipment has been installed - specifically the Directors Office suite). The work is expected to take 4 - 5 weeks to complete. The contractor will work from 3 pm - 11 pm. They will start in the public areas and then work into the offices and labs. They will stage their equipment on the loading dock behind the Annex. There should be minimal impact on parking. On Monday they will begin work in the 2nd floor hallways in the Annex (84). As more specific information becomes available, it will be posted at:
http://www2.slac.stanford.edu/cl/. If there are questions or concerns, please contact Ruth McDunn (Asst. Building Manager), Frank O'Neill (Building Manager), or Richard Altieri (SLAC CEF).
UPDATE:
Building 40 Occupants,
On Wednesday (August 9) from 3 - 11 pm, there will be scaffolding set up in some of the stairwells to replace the light ballasts. You will be asked to use an alternate set of stairs during that time.
At this point the plan is:
Three story wing - in the north east stairwell, the 2nd and 3rd floors will be blocked. The northwest stairwell will be open.
Two story wing, the only inside stairwell will be blocked. You will be asked to use the outside stairs.
